Carbon Literacy Training for Health Profesionals
14th July - 14th August 2025
Brightside Physio
Perranporth, Cornwall
Decarbonisation of the NHS and the Healthcare industry is essential for sustainable development towards a net zero future. But without an increase in climate awareness and action, no substantial progress can be made.
We have a duty as healthcare professionals to protect our patients, and therefore to protect our planet. Carbon Literacy is an awareness of the carbon costs and impacts of everyday activities and the ability and motivation to reduce emissions, on an individual, community and organisational basis.
Becoming carbon literate can make a real difference to improving the health of patients, the wellbeing of staff, the finances of the organisation and the health of the planet through meaningful positive action pledges.
This Carbon Literacy Training is designed specifically for Physiotherapy (and Occupational Therapy and it can be tailored for GP’s to attend also) and helps explain and improve understanding of:
- What greenhouse gases are and where they come from, and healthcare's contribution to it
- Their impact on our climate, our planet and our patients
- The actions we can take today to reduce our emissions and prepare for the future.
Participants will become certified as Carbon Literate upon completion of the course and the submission of their personal and workplace action-pledges.
2 part, in-person, 4hr workshops hosted at Brightside Physio in Perranporth:
Part 1 - Monday July 14th 2pm
Part 2 - Thursday August 14th 2pm
Both parts must be attended for completion of the course.
